Times ago in the city center, but still with us

A whole generation had already grown up without the ubiquitous slogan "Lenin forever alive" shining from all school and workplace notice-boards.  However, it seems that until present days, there may be some truth to that obsolete catchword - at least unofficially, at some places, and for some people, such as on one city's periphery.  (Vladimir Lenin was a front communistic theorist and political leader in the early Soviet Union era.)
